LONDON (June 2, 2026) NDI, the global standard for plug-and-play IP video connectivity, today announced NDI Fundamentals for Developers, a new free online course for developers building NDI-enabled products. Available at no cost, the five-hour course is designed to give software developers, product architects, and SDK integrators the foundational knowledge needed to design, implement, and validate robust NDI-enabled products. Participants can also receive AVIXA Renewal Unit (RU) credits upon completion. 

The course is structured around three core learning objectives where students will learn to design NDI-enabled product architecture by selecting and combining the appropriate NDI system roles, properly separating media and control functions, and applying suitable design patterns for reliable AV-over-IP product behavior. Participants will also develop practical skills in using NDI SDK documentation, reference examples, and structured testing workflows to guide integration decisions, implement core NDI features, verify expected behavior, and troubleshoot technical integration challenges.  

The course also covers how to evaluate and improve NDI product robustness by identifying performance constraints, applying monitoring and diagnostic methods, and enhancing interoperability through effective sound metadata and implementation choices. Additionally, it introduces best practices for validating AI-assisted development outputs against official references and testing standards. 

“NDI has always grown through the creativity of its developer community,” said Roberto Musso, Technical Director at NDI. “This course is designed to help developers better understand the technology, build with confidence, and explore new ways to stretch what’s possible with NDI in real-world applications.” 

The new developer course builds on NDI’s existing education offerings, including its NDI Basics course, which helps onboard the next generation of IP video users. By expanding its curriculum to address the technical needs of developers and integrators, NDI continues to invest in the tools and resources that support its rapidly growing ecosystem of compatible products across hardware, software, and cloud-native workflows. 

NDI will extend its developer education momentum to InfoComm 2026, where Roberto Musso will present Introduction to NDI Development, a dedicated session designed to give developers and integrators a practical on-ramp to building on NDI. Interested participants can register for the session taking place Tuesday, June 16 from 4-5 p.m. at W203/W204 through their myInfoComm login. While distinct from the online course, the session covers complementary ground offering a live, interactive introduction to NDI development that pairs well with the self-paced NDI Fundamentals for Developers online course. 

Visitors can also experience the breadth of the NDI ecosystem firsthand at the NDI Ecosystem Booth, located in Central Hall at booth C7572. The booth will bring together a selection of NDI ecosystem partners including TSL, Creston, BirdDog, Inogeni and more showcasing the range of NDI-compatible products and workflows across hardware, software, and cloud environments. Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage with a live demo station showcasing NDI 6.3, featuring enhanced visibility and control of video sources with real-time stream insights and performance tracking. Multi-location production with distributed sources managed through NDI’s advanced discovery and network control, as well as demonstrations of how NDI metadata unlocks smarter, AI-ready video workflows will be exhibited. A live Zoom integration demo will also be on display, illustrating how NDI is redefining collaboration by enabling broadcast-grade quality in enterprise environments.
