HDMI Connectivity with Input Scaling
The V-1-4K features five HDMI inputs with scalers on every channel, enabling seamless switching between HD and 4K 60p HDR video sources. Five HDMI output channels include multi-viewer functionality, allowing independent video signals to be fed to a main monitor, a confidence monitor, and other destinations without a distribution amplifier.

Flexible Routing
The five video inputs and six total outputs (HDMI plus USB streaming) offer flexibility for a wide range of production needs. In addition to program, preview, and multi-view outputs, output channels 3 and 4 can be assigned to any output bus and any input signal via 4K-to-HD downscalers.

Video Composition Tools
The V-1-4K makes it simple to keep audiences engaged with layered graphics and visual effects. Three composition layers allow you to use scalable picture-in-picture images and add titles, logos, social media comments, and more.

Efficient Multi-Angle Shots with ROI
The ROI (Region of Interest) processor lets you compose up to four shots from a single 4K camera image, such as a wide shot of the stage, a medium shot of a speaking panel, and close-ups of each speaker. This powerful feature elevates your production value without increasing camera count, complexity, or costs.

Professional 4K Graphics
Graphics Presenter software for Windows allows you to create stunning titles and graphics without the need for expensive third-party graphic presentation solutions. V-1-4K setup is quick and straightforward, requiring only a single HDMI connection to send fill and key signals from the computer to the switcher.

Graphics Presenter Version 3.0 and later supports 4K and HD workflows with a wide selection of ready-to-edit templates, including animated title text, sports scores, motion graphics, and more. The software and templates are available free of charge, and additional content is periodically provided for download on Roland Cloud.

Plug-And-Play Streaming Up to 4K60p
The V-1-4K uses the same connection technology as webcams for a plug-and-play streaming experience. Simply connect the USB-C output to a computer and start streaming with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or any streaming platform that supports a standard webcam connection.

PTZ Camera Integration
Robotic PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) cameras greatly expand your production capabilities, thanks to their small size and remote-controlled positioning. The V-1-4K includes built-in control support for select Canon, JVC, Panasonic, Sony, PTZOptics, Avonic, and VISCA-compatible PTZ LAN cameras. Mix and match different brands and operate up to five PTZ cameras simultaneously. The V-1-4K Remote app for iPad is an ideal companion for PTZ operation, providing remote camera controls from the tablet.

High-Quality Audio Mixing and Effects
The V-1-4K features 14 channels of audio mixing and a wide selection of processing tools, including equalizers and compressors. There are also sync delays on all input and output busses to align audio with video if needed. I/O routing options include main, monitor, and two aux buses supporting complex audio configurations for hybrid events.

Customizable Control
Eight user-assignable pads provide instant control of many functions during live events. The pads are organized into four banks, providing direct access to 32 operations, including video input routing, audio muting, system configuration access, and more. It’s also possible to control functions in the Graphics Presenter software when the host computer is connected via USB.

Paul Richards of StreamGeeks and PTZOptics highlights the game-changing power of 4K60 in a new article. Paul says “The clarity, flexibility, and professional polish it provides are unmatched. Whether you’re live-streaming tutorials, coaching sports teams, or capturing unforgettable events, 4K60 is rapidly becoming the new standard. Here’s what we’ve learned and how we’re embracing this shift.”

An example of the power of 4K60 is this recent success story from Joe De Max at Central Control. For over a year, Central Control’s content has been recorded live to tape in 4K60 using vMix becasue it provides clarity and ensures every screen detail.

Achieving this level of production has come with struggles, and with the powerhouse AMD Threadripper 7970x with 48 PCI-e lanes, paired with an NVIDIA 4080 RTX and 128GB of RAM, Centrl Control was able to handle multiple 4K60 inputs, ISO recordings, and program outputs without breaking a sweat.

In sports video, 4K60 is especially important. NAB 2024: JVC KY-PZ540 Series wins best PTZ Camera

In a recent blog post by Terra York on Videomaker, JVC’s KY-PZ540 Series PTZ Cameras have been awarded Best Camera of NAB 2024. This recognition highlights the innovative features of these cameras, particularly their 40x zoom capability, a first for PTZ cameras. The cameras utilize a 4K CMOS sensor and feature a 20x optical zoom for 4K streaming, while switching to HD seamlessly with JVC’s Variable Scan Mapping (VSM) technology to achieve a full 40x zoom resolution in HD mode.

The design of the KY-PZ540 cameras incorporates user-friendly elements such as a two-color tally light, internal microphones, and an IP address display on the front panel, along with a range of connectivity options on the rear, including HDMI, 3G-SDI, and audio ports, as well as USB-C, RS-232C, and ethernet ports. These cameras are available in black or white to suit different environments.

The KY-PZ540 Series supports streaming in various resolutions, up to 60p in 4K UHD and 1080p and 720p in HD. While HD-SDI outputs are limited to 1080p, HDMI can handle 4K streaming. The cameras also incorporate UVC (USB Video Class) and NDI HX3 capabilities in the KY-PZ540N model, allowing for easy network sharing and accessibility of video streams.

Notably, the cameras are equipped with H.265/HEVC compression technology for efficient 4K 60p streaming, particularly beneficial for live sports and events coverage, offering improved image quality at reduced bitrates compared to H.264. The KY-PZ540 cameras use multi-slice encoding technology to enhance performance and reduce latency in 4K 60p HEVC mode.

Another standout feature is the subject auto-tracking functionality, which includes five settings: Standard, Area, Stage, Wide Area, and Fine Adjustment. These settings allow users to customize tracking parameters based on the shooting scenario, ensuring that subjects remain in focus and within frame.

Overall, JVC’s KY-PZ540 Series PTZ Cameras are well-suited for large event spaces, stage performances, sports coverage, and places of worship due to their exceptional zoom capabilities and advanced auto-tracking features.
