Panasonic Connect Expands Kairos Production Ecosystem for 2024 NAB Show

At the 2024 NAB Show, Panasonic Connect showcased significant advancements to its AV technology solutions, aimed at enhancing content creation and delivery across various production environments, including broadcast studios, event venues, and meeting spaces. Key highlights include:

Kairos Platform Enhancements:
- AT-KC200L1 Main Frame (Kairos Core 200): This new core supports SDI workflows and is ideal for dynamic environments with complex live production needs. It offers scalability and future-proofs productions for eventual IP expansion.
- Kairos Alliance Partners: The ecosystem now includes over 50 partners, with new additions like Drastic Technologies, LAWO, NETGEAR, and Singular.live, ensuring seamless integration of diverse production systems.
AW-UE30 PTZ Camera:
- Designed for corporate and educational settings, this camera features 4K/30p video, 20x optical zoom, and easy integration with USB-based systems. It aims to enhance the experience for both in-person and remote participants.
Media Production Suite:
- A unified software platform that streamlines camera management, suitable for small teams. It supports high-quality video production with features like auto-tracking and AI keying for seamless chroma key compositions without a green screen.
AV-SF10 Software Control Panel for AV-HSW10:
- Allows networked PCs or tablets to control switcher functions, enabling efficient operations and configurations, even for operators with minimal experience. It includes features for pre-shoot preparation and on-shoot review.

These innovations address the increasing demand for versatile and user-friendly production tools amid staffing shortages and rising audience expectations.

JVC Professional Video Spotlights 40x Zoom PTZ and 4K Switcher at NAB 2024

Joseph D’Amico, Vice President of JVC Professional Video, joined InBroadcast at NAB 2024 to discuss the latest JVC solutions and technologies and shares some insight with us about the company history and plans for the future.

Included among the newest products that JVC announced at the show are the new KY-PZ540 Series PTZ cameras, which incorporate JVC’s 4K imager and renowned Variable Scan Mapping technology and are the brand’s first PTZ cameras to have 40x Zoom capabilities. We were also presented with details about the KM-IP12S8 Series vMix 4K studio switchers, which are complete live video production solutions that provide mixing, switching, recording and streaming.

NAB Show 2024 | Shot on RED

On the show floor of NAB 2024, check out RED’s V-RAPTOR [X] camera systems with Global Vision and all-new Broadcast Solutions.

RED brought its latest innovations to the National Association Broadcasters (NAB) Show April 13-18, including the all-new V-RAPTOR [X] and V-RAPTOR XL [X], which RED recently launched as the first-ever Large Format global shutter cinema camera. RED’s demonstrations focused on its Global Vision suite of tools, including Extended Highlights and Phantom Track for virtual and live productions. RED participated in NAB’s CineCentral in the Central Hall. The education-focused activation allowed attendees to take advantage of hands-on learning across various technologies and methods, including dedicated demos of the latest RED products.

All-new broadcast solutions, including SMPTE fiber cine-broadcast module and broadcast color. In addition, RED highlighted all-new broadcast technologies, which help to unlock cinematic imagery for broadcast and live event productions- including the all-new RED CINE-BROADCAST MODULE and broadcast color pipeline.

The new RED CINE-BROADCAST MODULE is compatible with V-RAPTOR XL [X], V-RAPTOR [X] and standard V-RAPTOR and V-RAPTOR XL camera systems. The module unlocks live broadcast with up to 2 channels of 4K 60P (HDR/SDR) over 12G-SDI and is IP-broadcast ready with SMPTE ST 2110 (TR-08) and up to a 4K 60P JPEG-XS feed. The module features a LEMO SMPTE 311M/304M hybrid fiber optical cable connector, which connects to a rack mountable 2 RU Base Station.

Additionally, broadcasters will also be able to unlock advanced workflows with slow-motion, AI/ML augmentation and live to headset using 8K 120FPS R3Ds by using RED’s license-enabled RED Connect feature.

RED also unveiled the brand-new Broadcast Color pipeline for the DSMC3 lineup, for live painting of RED cameras in a broadcast or streaming environment allows for on-demand adjustments and multi-camera color matching. The new firmware-enabled functionality utilizes industry-standard RCPs to control painting parameters in real-time over IP while saving information per frame in the R3D metadata.
