NAB 2024: JVC KY-PZ540 Series wins best PTZ Camera https://news.broadfield.com/nab-2024-jvc-ky-pz540-series-wins-best-ptz-camera/ Wed, 01 May 2024 14:00:00 +0000 https://news.broadfield.com/?p=28504 In a recent blog post by Terra York on Videomaker, JVC’s KY-PZ540 Series PTZ Cameras have been awarded Best Camera of NAB 2024. This recognition highlights the innovative features of these cameras, particularly their 40x zoom capability, a first for PTZ cameras. The cameras utilize a 4K CMOS sensor and feature a 20x optical zoom for 4K streaming, while switching to HD seamlessly with JVC’s Variable Scan Mapping (VSM) technology to achieve a full 40x zoom resolution in HD mode.

The design of the KY-PZ540 cameras incorporates user-friendly elements such as a two-color tally light, internal microphones, and an IP address display on the front panel, along with a range of connectivity options on the rear, including HDMI, 3G-SDI, and audio ports, as well as USB-C, RS-232C, and ethernet ports. These cameras are available in black or white to suit different environments.

The KY-PZ540 Series supports streaming in various resolutions, up to 60p in 4K UHD and 1080p and 720p in HD. While HD-SDI outputs are limited to 1080p, HDMI can handle 4K streaming. The cameras also incorporate UVC (USB Video Class) and NDI HX3 capabilities in the KY-PZ540N model, allowing for easy network sharing and accessibility of video streams.

Notably, the cameras are equipped with H.265/HEVC compression technology for efficient 4K 60p streaming, particularly beneficial for live sports and events coverage, offering improved image quality at reduced bitrates compared to H.264. The KY-PZ540 cameras use multi-slice encoding technology to enhance performance and reduce latency in 4K 60p HEVC mode.

Another standout feature is the subject auto-tracking functionality, which includes five settings: Standard, Area, Stage, Wide Area, and Fine Adjustment. These settings allow users to customize tracking parameters based on the shooting scenario, ensuring that subjects remain in focus and within frame.

Overall, JVC’s KY-PZ540 Series PTZ Cameras are well-suited for large event spaces, stage performances, sports coverage, and places of worship due to their exceptional zoom capabilities and advanced auto-tracking features. These cameras offer significant value for those looking to upgrade their PTZ systems or establish new setups, providing versatility across different streaming and connectivity requirements.

NAB 2024 Partner Spotlight – JVC https://news.broadfield.com/nab-2024-partner-spotlight-jvc/ Thu, 25 Apr 2024 14:00:00 +0000 https://news.broadfield.com/?p=28478 In the NAB 2024 Partner Spotlight YouTube video, JVC’s General Manager of Engineering, Edgar Shane, highlights JVC’s integration of NDI (Network Device Interface) into their product line. JVC offers a range of NDI-enabled PTZ cameras and video mixers, including the new KY-PZ540 camera, which supports NDI HX3. The advantage of NDI, as explained by Shane, is its ease of use in transmitting and receiving video over a local area network. Unlike peer-to-peer protocols, NDI is one-to-many, enabling multiple receivers to access the same video source. JVC showcases the integration of NDI into almost every product in their booth at NAB 2024
