What do I do with the QR code?
When provided with a voucher from one of our end users, please follow the instructions on the voucher to scan the QR code or follow the link supplied. You will then be asked to enter your details and redeem the voucher

Why do I have to enter my details to redeem the voucher?
In order for us to track the voucher usage, please enter your details when prompted. This data is reported back to us, and will be used to verify that you have applied the discount and therefore qualify to claim the associated credit.

What is the discount?
The discount is $500 to be applied to the MSRP of the Ninja V+ Pro Kit – exclusive of any taxes. You as the dealer will receive the credit appropriate to your dealer program (ie. Black Belt = $400 credit)

How do I make a claim after applying the discount?
When you redeem the voucher for your end user, your details will be provided to us. We will then need to see a copy of the associated invoice from you, in order to process your claim. Please provide this to Broadfield.

The battle for the supreme Non-Linear Editing software wages on!  The newest stab made by Final Cut Pro X with their latest update that will be sure to turn heads.  With this update users will have enhanced closed captioning capabilities as well as a new ProRes RAW format.  ProRes RAW combines the best aspects of ProRes and RAW video capabilities.  On the RAW side, these files can be worked on and enhanced with the “RAW data form the camera sensor“.  For HDR productions, this allows for ultimate control in color grading and obtaining the image you want even more than before.  For the ProRes benefits, these new files are smaller than the previous ProRes 4444 files which has obvious storage benefits and will allow for better speed as well.

The closed captioning capabilities are impressive as well.  Being able to import files quickly and efficiently while still being able to manipulate them however you’d like for your project.  And bundled into this update as well is “editing full-resolution 8K video, and extension of 360-degree VR video support to Motion and Compressor.”  However, the ProRes RAW improvement is the most eye-opening aspect of this update and should persuade users to the Final Cut Pro X direction.

Editors can also play full-quality 4K ProRes RAW files on 2016 and 2017 MacBook Pro and 2017 iMac systems in real time without rendering. ProRes RAW files are even smaller than ProRes 4444 files, allowing for better use of storage while providing a format for archiving.

Final Cut Pro editors can work natively with ProRes RAW and ProRes RAW HQ files created by Atomos recorders. The format will be available as a free update for owners of Atomos Sumo 19 and Shogun Inferno devices.

The 10.4 update to Final Cut Pro X was made available on Dec. 14, with new features including editing full-resolution 8K video, and extension of 360-degree VR video support to Motion and Compressor. The new version of Final Cut Pro X requires macOS 10.12.4.

With the recent EVA1 firmware release, Atomos announces an upgrade to its Shogun Inferno and Sumo19 products that allow the full potential of the EVA1 to be realised.

Panasonic’s just-announced firmware upgrade allows the EVA1 to output 5.7K Raw video though its 6G SDI port. This will massively increase the flexibility and quality of the output from this popular new camera.

Why 5.7K? It’s in a sweet spot where, after de-bayering (the process that turns the output from the Bayer pattern filtered sensor into full colour) the resulting resolution will be in excess of a true 4K.

The release of the new firmware update for Shogun Inferno and Ninja Inferno 4K monitor/recorders brings key features that make capturing and delivering in HDR as seamless as in standard dynamic range (SDR). It also brings 2K 240fps Raw-to-ProRes and 4K 12-bit CDNG Raw recording to the Panasonic Varicam LT, when coupled with the Shogun Inferno. This adds to the existing Raw support for several Sony and Canon cinema cameras, as well as improving support and enhancements for many more cameras.

The new release helps to make HDR simple to use, as the Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) HDR output of cameras like the Sony FS5, Z150 and Panasonic GH5 can now be recorded directly to the Inferno series recorders with the correct metadata flags embedded into the Apple ProRes or Avid DNxHR .MOV files. With this metadata the recorded clips can be used seamlessly in an end-to-end HLG workflow, just like Rec709.

Furthermore, these HLG clips can be natively edited in NLEs that support HLG, or uploaded directly to YouTube HDR in HLG to be seamlessly played back on any SDR TV for stunning improvements using the current SDR infrastructure. This is achieved with the metadata flag from the Atomos recording following the file through the NLE, then on through to YouTube HDR upload. Finally, it is then played out from HDR supported devices like the Google’s ChromeCast Ultra and Amazon’s Fire TV with 4K Ultra over HDMI correctly to any SDR or HDR TV – Atomos makes it simple to produce HDR in HLG today. …[continue reading]
