SVG Executive Perspectives 2025

Jim Bask, VP Marketing here at Broadfield shared his recent SVG Executive Perspective. “I appreciate the opportunity to share my insights on key trends shaping the sports video production landscape as we move into 2025 — including REMI production workflows,” says Jim.

Throughout the piece, Jim is asked about remote and cloud production, 4K and HDR, and Streaming. Jim shares his experience with remote and cloud based productions where he recently worked at the UFC 309 with Advanced Image Robotics. “Tools like PTZ cameras, remote production systems, and cloud platforms streamline operations by facilitating real-time collaboration and content distribution,” says Jim. “These technologies ensure content is immediately accessible to the right teams, enhancing live coverage and expanding audience reach.”

He also shared Broadfield’s experience hosting their 3-day virtual event, SportStream, where we explored innovations enhancing sports streaming and viewer engagement. “A key takeaway from our partners was the growing role of AV over IP technologies like NDI, Dante, and ST 2110,” says Jim. “These tools are transforming sports venues and broadcast studios by enabling video sources to be seamlessly integrated into networks”

SVG Summit New York City 2024 – Broadfield Booth #315

For those of us in live television production, the SVG Summit is the industry’s preeminent event of the year. If you live and breathe sports on TV, the SVG Summit is more than just a conference and tech showcase — it’s a family reunion.

Broadfield will be exhibiting at booth #315 where we will be showing workflows from PTZOptics, BirdDog and Avid!

This year’s conference tracks and exhibits will again be concentrated on the second floor of the New York Hilton Midtown on Monday, December 16. Exhibits and networking remain on the second floor on Tuesday, December 17 while the sessions move to the upstairs ballroom as a single body. The SVG Summit will again celebrate excellence as a community, topped off by the induction of the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame Class of 2024.

As always, expect a few new show enhancements this year, designed to further enrich your SVG Summit experience. But remember that this year’s show, as always, is ultimately about the fans and our viewers.
