Debuting at NAB 2019, the Teradek Ace 500 in an affordable zero-delay wireless video system for budget-conscious videographers. Will be available mid-June starting at $999.

Teradek announce at NAB 2019 the Bolt 4K, the first 4K HDR wireless video system providing uncompressed, zero-latency transmission,  a product that will be available next Summer. The revolutionary Bolt 4K system defines, says the company, “a whole new category of wireless video systems. The groundbreaking technology, found exclusively inside Bolt 4K, offers 8x the reliability of previous HD models, 1.5x more range, and superior image quality.”

Now, the Teradek Ace is also a zero-delay wireless video system, but it’s designed to all those who do not need 4K and will live well with a system that delivers uncompressed 1080p60 video at up to 500 ft. with zero delay. Built, says the company, with the same reliable wireless technology found in the industry-standard Bolt product line, the Ace 500 offers an ultralight, streamlined experience at a more accessible price point.

Use it with a SmallHD monitor

“Ace 500 was designed for independent creatives beginning to incorporate wireless video into their workflows, or for those operating within strict budgets who still need a reliable video link,” explained Greg Smokler, VP Products for Teradek.

Ideal for budget-conscious videographers, the Teradek Ace 500 can be paired with different monitors. Teradek suggests users can pair the Ace with SmallHD FOCUS monitors for an all-in-one handheld wireless monitoring solution. Ace transmitters can be paired with FOCUS RX, while Ace receivers can be paired with a FOCUS TX.

A versatile Teradek solution

Ace 500 transmits uncompressed 1080p60 video up to 500ft. line-of-sight with less than 1ms delay. The units feature HDMI input/output and can be powered via the 3.5mm barrel input using either a PTap/2pin power source or one of several battery plate accessories available.

What makes Ace 500 more versatile than the competition is its compatibility with Teradek’s Bolt ecosystem, allowing users to transmit and receive video from any Bolt 500 or SmallHD FOCUS 500 transmitter/receiver. Ace is also unique due to its compact and lightweight form factor. The transmitter weighs just 126g while the receiver weighs 146g, making them perfect for gimbals and camera rigs of any size.

The Teradek Ace 500 will be available mid-June and a transmitter/receiver set will retail for $999.00.

DJ Khaled’s “Top Off” MV is Wild & Wireless with DP Mike Marasco and 703 Bolt https://news.broadfield.com/dj-khaleds-top-off-mv-is-wild-wireless-with-dp-mike-marasco-and-703-bolt/ Thu, 12 Apr 2018 15:22:13 +0000 https://www.broadfield.com/news/?p=10187 From Teradek

user story teradek bolt 703….While DJ Khaled’s brute force approach towards music is something to be celebrated, the music videos help to really give his songs. The electrifying promo video for “Top Off” is the brainchild of Director Ivan Berrios, DJ Khaled’s right-hand man, and DP Mike Marasco (founder of Raw Media House), Ivan’s right-hand man for video production.

“Everyone who was part of this project had worked together before, and better yet, are my friends outside of work,” said Marasco, Director of Photography on set. “Ivan had seen a location from the movie Batman with the LED ceiling, which was Popsicle LA. He knew we needed DJ Khaled’s Maybach parked inside, so it was almost as if they were made for each other.”

Much like his previous work, Marasco wanted a way to keep everything smooth and efficient on set. What’s the best way to achieve this? By going wireless! Marasco got his hands on the new Teradek 703 Bolt, which was added to the 3-camera setup used on set….read more

SmallHD and Teradek Combine Technology to Introduce 703 Bolt Wireless Director https://news.broadfield.com/smallhd-and-teradek-combine-technology-to-introduce-703-bolt-wireless-director/ Fri, 19 Jan 2018 19:30:59 +0000 https://www.broadfield.com/news/?p=9505 Wireless applications are greatly desired in the media field.  Whether if it’s to share storage or transmit feeds, if it has a wireless solution that will be integrating into your workflow.  In some cases going to a wireless system for anything may drive costs down long-term but will increase productivity immediately.  In that spirit SmallHD and Teradek came together to create a wireless monitor , the SmallHD 703 Bolt Wireless Director’s Monitor.  This device allows anyone with the monitor to keep an eye on the production from wherever they may be.  It’s practical to think this is only good for big productions, but for those smaller productions that might not be able to have the room for a full monitoring system this is an excellent affordable solution.

“Our clients have long been requesting a monitor of SmallHD’s caliber that’s cable-free, so it made perfect sense to partner with Teradek,” said Wes Phillips, SmallHD CEO and co-founder.

The 703 Bolt combines SmallHD’s daylight viewable seven-inch, 1920x1080p display, with a built-in Teradek Bolt receiver. The receiver is compatible with Teradek Bolt 500, 1000 or 3000 transmitters.

The system can receive and display video from as far away as 300 feet from the transmitter. Powered by a single Anton Bauer or V-mount battery pack, the monitor can be viewed and receive signals for over four hours on a single 90 watt-hour battery….[continue reading]
