Accounts Receivable Specialist (Posted 10/24/24)

Broadfield Distributing Inc. is a family owned and operated business in Mineola conveniently located right off the LIE, Northern State and Meadowbrook. We distribute video technology products that allow you to live stream, edit and produce video. We currently have an opening in our finance department.

  • This is a full-time, in-person position in Mineola, NY
  • This position includes paid days off and benefits including health, dental, vision, 401K, and more. 
  • Salary range is $45,000 – $50,000 per year with ample opportunity to grow and earn more
  • Annual bonus and other performance-based incentives

Responsibilities:

  • Posting payments – Inputting various forms of payment (checks, EFT, etc.) in NetSuite
  • Communicating with customers
    • Phone calls, approving customer orders, emailing invoices, answering questions, sending monthly statements
    • Communicating with management and sales team when necessary
  • Fielding credit references
    • Emailing and following up with references from customer credit applications
    • Summarizing information to prepare for management
    • Calling/emailing customer and sales rep advising of approval
  • Billing
    • Issue invoices, cash sales, and credit memos and email batches
    • Process credit cards and refund credit cards
  • Follow up on customer balances
    • Reviewing aging and other reports, calling customers, working with other departments when needed

Qualifications / Skills

  • 1-2 years experience or business major/minor
  • Experience with accounting / accounts receivable
  • Advanced Excel knowledge required (using formulas, VLOOKUP, importing data)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP advantageous, but not required
  • Knowledgeable of professional etiquette in email writing
  • Fast-learning and detail-oriented

Warehouse Associates (Part time available 20-25 hours per week)

We are looking for reliable team players who are ready to become a valuable member of our warehouse team.
Responsibilities include: 

  • Receive and scan shipments  
  • Pick, pack and ship orders  
  • Unloading, loading and moving inventory 
  • Inventory Cycle counts 

Part time warehouse associates start at $18.50 an hour. Full time associates start at  $40,000/year with full benefits

Sales Reps (We are always looking to grow our sales team. If you think you’ve got the chops and you are looking for new opportunities, shoot us your resume)

We are looking for beginning and/or experienced sales reps who are outgoing, have a great personality, are team players and know how to get results. 

As a distributor of video technology, you will be calling on dealers, Value Added Resellers, System Integrators, eCommerce sights and any other reseller interested in selling our technology. We do not limit you to specific territories, and experienced reps can work remotely from anywhere in the continental US.  

  • Entry level reps will start their career in person, on premises for at least the first 6 months 
  • More experienced sales rep positions can be fully remote or hybrid

Purchasing Assistant (Position Filled)

Broadfield is offering an entry level opportunity in our Purchasing Dept to start or re-start your career while developing new skills. This Purchasing Assistant position has tremendous growth opportunity for the right candidate.  You will be communicating daily with vendors, entering updated information into NetSuite ERP and interacting with our sales and customer service teams. 

Your responsibilities will include creating Drop Shipment Purchase Orders and tracking them; getting and managing ETA’s (estimated time of arrival); entering & updating them into our systems; and then providing updates to our sales & customer service teams.   

The ideal candidate should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written; be well organized and able to prioritize tasks; and be able to manage their own time effectively to complete tasks.

Order Entry / Customer Service  (Position Filled)

We are looking for reliable, detail oriented, team player with proficiency in data entry, order processing, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft teams. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Entering and processing orders into our NetSuite ERP system 
  • Downloading and entering orders from our website and EDI system 
  • Update dealer information into NetSuite 
  • Assisting customers on the phone and via email with order status, tracking shipments, and providing customer service 
  • Committed to providing the best customer service in our industry to all our customers. 

The right candidate for this position will have: 

  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel and Word required. Please do not apply if you aren’t proficient. 
  • NetSuite (or similar ERP) order entry experience is a huge plus.
