In this video from EDIUS.NET, Michael Lehmann-Horn is presenting the new T3 recorder/player from Grass Valley at ISE 2025 in Barcelona. The new T3 recorder/player is even more powerful and at the same time more compact than its predecessor T2, which will benefit for example operators of OB vans.
The Grass Valley T3 has three recording/playback channels that can be configured as required. In HD mode, up to three channels can be used as player or recorder at the same time. In UHD mode (60p), two channels can be used in parallel. This allows the T3 to be used for live broadcasts if the programme is to be recorded and played back with a slight time delay at the same time for security reasons.
The T3 supports frame-accurate synchronisation of the output video signal with timecode, for example to Midi, and is therefore the preferred choice as a player for video screens at concerts. A legendary feature of the T3 is that it can play almost any video file natively or transcode it automatically, whether via network (two 2.5 Gbit Ethernet ports are available) USB, SD card or SSD slots.
