Adobe Premiere will now automatically fix bad dialogue recordings with AI
By Jennifer P
In a recent blog post for Videomaker, Pete Tomkies discusses the latest updates to Adobe’s Creative Cloud Suite, particularly focusing on the enhancements made to Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. Adobe Premiere Pro 24.0 boasts impressive improvements in timeline performance, now five times faster than its predecessor, along with enhanced reliability and new code optimizations. Tomkies highlights the AI-powered Text-Based editing feature, introduced in May, which allows users to create rough cuts by pasting text from an interview transcript and even automatically detects and removes filler words.
Another significant addition is the “Enhance Speech” feature, a top user-requested addition from Adobe Podcast. This tool simplifies noise removal from voice recordings and utilizes AI to make audio sound professionally recorded. Tomkies also notes improvements in color correction, automatic tone mapping, Lumetri Color panel settings, and LUT management in Premiere Pro.
The blog post touches on other community-requested features, such as metadata and timecode burn-in effects, project templates, custom exports, and Blackmagic RAW installer guidance. Adobe After Effects now offers a true 3D workspace for motion graphics, with the ability to import, animate, light, shade, and render 3D models, delivering photo-real results through a high-performance GPU-accelerated engine. Additionally, AI-powered rotoscoping capabilities enhance object cutting, even for challenging elements like overlapping limbs and hair.
Tomkies also highlights the updates to Frame.io, the online collaboration platform acquired by Adobe in 2021. These updates provide users with more ways to compare, review, and approve project elements, allowing side-by-side comparisons of various media types and facilitating annotations. Adobe has added five new Camera to Cloud (C2C) connections to Frame.io, catering to filmmakers, photographers, news, and sports media professionals. Moreover, Adobe has introduced Frame.io Storage Connect to link Amazon AWS S3 buckets directly to Frame.io, offering data custody, compliance control, reduced storage costs, and fast onboarding.
Despite mixed reactions to the Adobe subscription model, Tomkies acknowledges that the rapid delivery of new features and updates is a significant benefit for users. He concludes the post by highlighting the democratization of advanced video-making technology, particularly through products like Accsoon, which make Frame.io’s capabilities accessible to a broader audience.
