Atomos Ninja V records 4K 10-bit full-frame video from new Nikon Z 6 & Z 7 mirrorless camera

By Jim Bask 0 Comment August 23, 2018

Today, the holy grail of video on mirrorless cameras has been unveiled: the new Nikon Z 6 and Z 7 mirrorless cameras output a full-frame 10-bit 4K N-Log signal which the new Atomos Ninja V 4k HDR monitor/recorder can record and display in HDR.
This combination raises the bar for filmmakers and photographers shooting video everywhere. The Nikon Z 6 and Z 7 have state-of-the-art sensors that output pristine 4k images over HDMI, ready for conversion to HDR by Atomos. The Atomos Ninja V records the output to production-ready 10-bit Apple ProRes or Avid DNx formats. Atomos is proud to be the first to support Nikon Log, Apple ProRes recording and HDR monitoring from the Z series cameras. The tiny Ninja V 5-inch device is the perfect partner for these full-frame mirrorless cameras, making the setup ideal for weddings, corporate, news, documentary, nature films or b-roll for Hollywood productions.

At the same time, cellular infrastructure was changing with the introduction of 3G. What Avi quickly realized was how this cellular technology could impact the broadcasting community. He just knew there could be an easier and less

Microsoft Skype has released a new version (8.25 on Windows and Mac) that integrates NewTek’s NDI®, the royalty free bidirectional technology for IP transport of video, audio, metadata and communications using standard networks. The user can now engage NDI to use video from a networked camera or device as the video source to send with the Skype audio. High-quality professional video cameras can replace lower resolution and low framerate webcams, allowing for a much better presentation for the caller, especially for applications such as guest expert on a broadcast news program.
