Blackmagic URSA Cine 17K & 12K Camera Rig
By Jennifer P
In this video from Tyler Edwards, he walks through how he rigged up the Blackmagic URSA Cine 17K65, with tips that also apply to the Blackmagic URSA Cine 12K LF since their bodies are identical. He breaks down the build from the bottom up, starting with the included shoulder mount for easy transitions between handheld, tripod, and dolly setups, then layering on Wooden Camera Elite accessories like the top plate, rails, and a more ergonomic handle for cleaner, more flexible rigging. He also highlights smart cable management using Condor Blue ties, a wedge plate that levels out the rear battery setup, and wireless monitoring powered by a Teradek Bolt 6 LT mounted in a Core SWX caddy for clean power pass-through. For added control, he uses adjustable handles, custom SDI cables from Mutiny, and a lightweight matte box for NDs. The result is a tidy, efficient, and production-ready camera rig designed to transition seamlessly between shooting environments.
