Epiphan’s latest article covers the newly released firmware update 4.24.1, which enhances content management and system integration across Pearl devices. A key highlight is the introduction of a Q-SYS Control Plugin, simplifying interactions with CMS platforms like Panopto and Kaltura. Users can now create custom User Control Interfaces with drag-and-drop functionality, making event management, such as starting, pausing, resuming, stopping, and tracking progress, more intuitive and efficient than ever.
The update also expands the REST API, offering a dedicated developer-access mode for easy command generation via copy-and-paste. This significantly reduces integration complexity, allowing system integrators, AV teams, and enterprises to automate workflows, customize event controls, and manage multiple Pearl devices from a centralized interface. With enhanced integration for Panopto, Kaltura, and YuJa, organizations can now execute tasks with a single click, streamlining operations and minimizing manual effort. Improved Crestron support brings more secure HTTPS commands and better content organization through refined file and channel naming conventions.
Peripheral support and file sharing also see major improvements. Expanded Delcom USB button functionality enables flexible control over event actions, while customizable LED states for Delcom and Kuando USB lights provide real-time status updates. Additionally, Epiphan Edge introduces an effortless file-sharing system, allowing users to upload and distribute content instantly.
This free update will be available for all Pearl Nexus, Pearl Mini, Pearl Nano, and Pearl-2 systems, accessible via an Epiphan Edge account or the device’s local web interface.
