Jordan Media City Upgrades Two Studios with Glass-to-Glass Solutions from Grass Valley
The studios are outfitted with new GV cameras, switchers, routers and multiviewers
MONTREAL, June 7, 2017 — After signing a multi-year contract with a local channel, Jordan Media City (JMC) knew their studios needed some equipment upgrades before the new tenant moved in. With this mission in mind, Grass Valley, a Belden Brand, worked with JMC to provide a fully integrated solution featuring the cutting-edge technology for which Grass Valley is known. The two studios are now equipped with LDX 80 Series cameras, 2 M/E and 3 M/E Karrera K-Frame switchers, an NVISION 8144 router, GV Kaleido multiviewers and all related software and hardware for complete integration.
The focus of the studio upgrade for JMC was ensuring that the solutions they chose utilized forward-looking, innovative technology worth their investment—solutions that will deliver high-quality broadcast production for years to come. Part of what made Grass Valley solutions right for JMC was the use of the latest digital CMOS capture technology in the LDX series cameras as opposed to aging analogue CCD technology as still used in many HD cameras. In combination with the unique GV eLicense system for seamless upgrading from any lower model to any higher model of the range, the LDX series cameras deliver the most future proof solution of all HD productions available on the market.
“We knew that in order to create the best environment for the channels, and future tenants, we had to embrace new solutions and technology but in a smart way with innovations that will stand the test of time,” said Faris Abdullah, chief technology officer at JMC. “Grass Valley proved themselves a market leader in technology while also showing the ability to seamlessly integrate their complete solution. Lasting innovation and efficiency are the qualities that we were looking for in a partner for this project.”
Broadcast & Studio Solutions, a Grass Valley systems integrator, helped facilitate an efficient and successful installation of all new equipment in the studio. JMC moved into the newly updated studios earlier this year and is already creating quality content for its valued customers throughout Jordan.
“After an extensive, competitive technical evaluation, JMC chose Grass Valley, knowing that our family of solutions would be able to meet their needs,” said Hany Bartella, managing director, Middle East, Grass Valley. “We know that adopting any new technology or product comes with trepidation, but we’re thrilled JMC recognized the value of our experience and customer-first culture and made this investment in their future and the futures of their rental partners.”
