Pixellot Technology Helps Bring Maccabi Tel Aviv Player to the NBA

By Jamie G 0 Comment December 11, 2020

Maccabi Tel Aviv celebrated when Deni Avdija was drafted for the NBA. The Israeli player created change in the culture according to Ofir Frank, the Chief Technology Officer for Maccabi Tel Aviv. With the help of Pixellot Technology, Avadija was able to to show for his hard work.

Pixelott gives teams, leagues, and venues cost-effective live coverage through an award-winning end-to-end video and data solution. Maccabi has been using Pixellot technology at practices and games, which means coaches and players can not only monitor what is happening during games, but also in practice sessions.

So how has the Pixellot helped Avdija? Avdija practices were caught on camera by Pixellot technology. The Pixellot was installed on the court to monitor both Avdija’s movements in a tight shot as well as recording a panoramic view. Avdija would then work with his coach and trainer, Veljko Perovic to go over the footage and collaborate with Ofir Frank to make changes and improve his game.

“He would come at crazy hours, For him, the videos and the opportunities he had from studying his own performance, he went right to it—small adjustments, a better movement, a better stroke, a sharper angle into his jump. All these small things make you a better player. Not many players in this age are having the passion and patience to do that. But Deni was always targeting high. He worked and worked.”

Pixellot has grown a lot since 6 years ago was it was just a start up. The company serves big international clubs like Maccabi, Bayern Munich and F.C. Barcelona, as well as college programs in the U.S. like Penn State, Indiana soccer and Virginia’s basketball program. And with the pandemic that hit this year, technology like the Pixellot became more and more important.

In the middle of the pandemic, I think technology like ours became more and more important. Pre-pandemic, streaming was nice to have for schools, something good to capture the content and give people a chance to see it. The last four months, we’ve seen incredible adoption of the technology. Streaming has gone from a nice-to-have to a must-have.”

David Shapiro, President of Pixellot North America

Pixellot is a great tool for coaches and players to improve themselves and each other. No matter the players level and skill it’s important to find ways to improve and Pixellot can do so and has done so for players like Deni Avdija.
