In this article from NewscastStudio, NDI unveils its latest advancements in IP video technology at NAB Show 2025, including the beta demo of NDI 6.2, the launch of the new Metadata Lab, and a groundbreaking integration with AWS Elemental MediaConnect. These innovations aim to enhance discoverability, streamline metadata standardization, and expand cloud-based production workflows, reinforcing NDI’s position as a leader in live video transport.

A key highlight of the showcase is NDI 6.2, which introduces advanced receiver discoverability, allowing users to see every NDI-connected source with full visibility. The update also enhances monitoring and control, giving users real-time insights into stream details such as video format, codec, resolution, and frame rate. Attendees can experience an exclusive demo of these features at the co-branded Vizrt booth (W3031 – West Hall).

NDI’s collaboration with AWS marks another major milestone, bringing native NDI support to AWS Elemental MediaConnect. This integration allows broadcasters, streaming platforms, and enterprise users to seamlessly transport high-quality IP video within AWS, further strengthening cloud-based production capabilities. Multiple NAB Show demonstrations in the West Hall, including a live cloud production showcase at the AWS booth (W1701), will highlight how NDI technology integrates with AWS-native workflows.

Further expanding NDI’s impact, the newly launched NDI Metadata Lab is set to drive industry-wide standardization for metadata. This initiative invites developers, broadcasters, and technology partners to contribute to metadata standards for automation, interactivity, and control within NDI-based workflows. Several key metadata standards, including PTZ control, tally, captions, MIDI, DMX, and KVM, have already been established, enabling smoother integration across production environments.

Additionally, NAB Show 2025 marks the 20th anniversary of TriCaster, a game-changing solution that has revolutionized live video production. To celebrate, Vizrt is giving away two TriCaster Mini S units with laptops, with the first winner announced at booth W3031.

NDI’s presence at NAB extends beyond its booth, with its technology featured at major partner exhibits, including Panasonic, Ross, Sony, BirdDog, and Bolin. With a strong focus on innovation, interoperability, and cloud-native workflows, NDI’s latest advancements at NAB Show 2025 signal a major step forward for the future of IP-based live production.
