Remote Productions, BirdDog Cloud, and SRT

Remote Production architectures can take on many forms, from fully cloud-based studios to switching remote cameras. A core element of almost all remote productions is a wide area transport technology called Secure Reliable Transport – better known as SRT. An excellent off-the-shelf solution for connecting remote video sources is BirdDog Cloud, combining NDI (for capture and delivery of local video/audio connections) with SRT (for routing them across the internet). On today’s show, we’ll take a closer look at BirdDog Cloud and SRT, and give you the information you need to explore ways you can integrate them into your workflow.
