Skype TX honored with an Emmy® Award for Technology & Engineering
By Jim Bask
In the four years since inception, the Skype TX team has worked hard to help push the boundaries of broadcast television, and that hard work has paid off with an Emmy® Award for Technology & Engineering in 2017. We’re humbled by this honor and further motivated to continue providing reporters and entertainers the next level of broadcast innovation.
Whether you’re aware of it or not, you’ve probably seen some classic Skype TX broadcast moments. Remember the children who interrupted their dad during a BBC interview? Or when Michelle Obama spoke to girls around the world in a live Glamour broadcast? Or maybe you saw members of One Direction apply toothpaste mustaches during a Skype Scavenger Hunt on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Partners like Vice News, India’s Got Talent, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show have also incorporated Skype TX into their broadcasts. It’s an increasingly indispensable tool for connecting with journalists, field reporters, experts, fans, and creative talent on multiple platforms—at a moment’s notice—without having to send out a camera crew and production team. Contributors simply connect to real-time broadcasts using their Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, Xbox, or any other Skype-supported device.
