Erik from NewsShooter received a thorough tour of the Atomos Connect Cloud Studio workflow from Paul from Atomos at NAB 2023. It has grown, and this year, among other capabilities, an editing platform is being added to the process.
Having built a solid reputation for designing and manufacturing innovative production devices, Atomos recently introduced a powerful new collection of complementary, cloud-based video production services under the umbrella term Atomos Cloud Studio (ACS). Paul Scurrell, Senior VP, Product, explains all.
Paul Scurrell takes us on his rundown of the company’s latest updates at NAB. Atomos has gone live with its Cloud Studio and CONNECT monitor-recorders, so anyone with a Ninja V or V+ fitted with an ATOMOS CONNECT, or a Shogun CONNECT, can use either WiFi or Ethernet to connect their cameras to Atomos Cloud Studio.
The Atomos Cloud Studio and virtual livestream mixing is a game-changer for video production. The cloud-based platform allows users to stream directly from their connected devices to YouTube, Twitch, and custom RTMPS, among other platforms. The company has made significant updates to their subscription service, making it more cost-effective and opening up a host of new features.
At Frame.io, they have established a number of very close alliances with software and hardware businesses whose impact on the filmmaking industry is evident. From portable on-camera displays to HDR studio-grade monitor-recorders, Atomos, one of these partners, undoubtedly caters to the greatest range of camera operators and content producers.
In a recent video uploaded to YouTube by Adobe Video & Motion, they discuss how Sundance Film Festival utilizes Adobe Creative Cloud and Frame.io to maintain a Camera to Cloud Workflow. Frame.io is a cloud-based video review and collaboration platform designed for video professionals and teams. It allows users to upload, review, and share video content with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders in real-time.
Atomos Cloud Studio (ACS) is now available! Get affordable subscription-based tools for remote collaboration and live production.
At NAB 2022, ATOMOS and Frame.io announced a brand-new Camera to Cloud integration with the SHOGUN CONNECT and ATOMOS CONNECT range that would connect hundreds of HDMI, Mirrorless, and DSLR cameras directly to the cloud.
KITPLUS recently uploaded a video to their YouTube channel of a quick overview video and demo of the Atomos Shogun Connect that we have been using tethered to a 5G connected iPhone at ISE 2023 in Barcelona. The Shogun records an internal ProRes file as well as an H265 file and uploads the H265 file to, in our case, a Frame.io account for our remote editor to download and edit.
