Get behind the scenes with Director of Photography, Mark Moreve, to find out how he adapted to the needs of his education and live event clients with the help of the new Canon PTZ Applications. His clients wanted to keep on working in a hybrid manner and the PTZ applications became an essential part of Mark’s kit due to its ability to be completely automated and not require a camera operator.
Brian Hallett recently posted an article on ProVideoCoalition reviewing the brand new Canon CR-N700. Canon announced the launch of the CR-N700, a 4K PTZ camera with advanced features and capabilities, designed for professional broadcast and live event productions.
PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) cameras offer a lot of benefits for camera operators. They can be used to capture a wide range of shots, including overhead and panoramic views, and can be controlled remotely, making it easy for operators to adjust the camera’s position and zoom level. Additionally, PTZ cameras are often compact and lightweight, making them easy to transport and set up.
Gary is joined by David Doko of Canon to introduce their lines of NDI PTZ cameras, including the CR-N300, CR-N500, and CR-N700.

This is a setup guide for the Canon EOS-R 4K mirrorless camera and the Atomos Ninja V monitor/recorder device.
Whenever a new product that moves the goalposts drops on the market, other companies are very quick to line up and show you how you can hit the ball into the back of the new net. Atomos is skilled at doing this, and while it has nothing with the EOS R to match the time it launched the Ninja Inferno and upgraded Panasonic’s GH5 from its shipping internal 8-bit 4:2:0 Long GOP to 10-bit, 4:2:2, ProRes/DNxHR in one fell stroke, its kit is a good match for the new camera.
