This is my Epiphan Pearl Review – a great streaming machine from Epiphan Video. The Epiphan Pearl is one badass streaming and recording machine. This small box lets you record and stream up to 4 HD sources at once, without a separate computer!
I’ve found that the simplest most effective way to use this device is as a basic multicam HDMI switcher. We use Livestream and a Livestream broadcaster box to live stream to the web. I’m able to input maximum four cameras and then use the Preview Out HDMI to run to a monitor to watch the feeds and the Output HDMI to send audio and video to the Livestream Broadcaster. This works fantastic. 95 percent of the time I don’t bother with the iPad app, as it’s just easier with the buttons and functionality of the box itself. As a switcher, this this is great.
