When writing this article, I was reminded of the first time I heard the MTV Real World title sequence. That show ushered in the wave unscripted reality television that was recorded and edited for our viewing pleasure. But In Real Life (or IRL) takes this unscripted approach to the next level. These content creators are live streaming their daily lives and adventures for global audiences, any time, from anywhere. Many of these streamers were born out of Twitch, originally creating channels focused on video and tabletop gaming. But when Pokémon GO exploded in 2016 and players like aDrive, started to implement outdoor live streaming to engage with fans they go on the hunt, the IRL streaming movement was born.
Since we’ve announced our hiatus from doing our Broadfield LIVE Webinars, we didn’t want to leave our dealers totally alone for the rest of the summer. This is why we decided to bring back our Fries n’ Shake accessory videos.
Sports is in our DNA. The idea for the cellular bonded solution was born after our COO & Co-Founder, Avi Cohen attended a soccer game in Israel. He saw first-hand how much effort was involved in broadcasting a live game – the SAT trucks and massive infrastructure needed, plus the amount of people on site and in the studio to capture and produce the game. One of the biggest ways to narrow your camera search is deciding on a budget. You don’t want to waste your time sifting through tech and spec on 100 different cameras when only 20 of them fit in your budget. This also helps you really think about what is important to your streams. If you don’t have the biggest budget you may have to compromise some component of the camera in order to stay within your means. For example, “good enough” might win over “perfect” when it comes to all the bells and whistles (especially when budget is the deciding factor). In most cases you will have the chance to add on better mics, lighting or other accessories later that will more than make up for a special built-in filter.
The highly publicized Mexico Presidential Elections reached global audiences and broke records for voter turnout and media coverage. To keep a country informed and provide up-to-the-minute updates and results, the media relied on LiveU and its Mexican partner, Magnum Soluciones Digitales, to deliver a reliable live solution for the high-profile news event. The result was an unprecedented 500 simultaneous live streams using the LU600 HEVC and other LiveU solutions for 48 hours, the first test of LiveU’s flagship HEVC technology on a large scale in Mexico.
