Atomos has been working on making video production workflows for years now and they don’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. Their CEO Jeromy Young took center stage during NAB 2018 to announce the introduction of ProRes RAW support on some of their monitors.
Western Digital just revealed its new lineup of G-Technology G-DRIVE and G-SPEED external solid state drives at NAB 2018 and, as you might expect, they’re built to handle ultra-high resolution video. In fact, WD claims these Thunderbolt 3 drives enable “real-time 4K and 8K workflows” for professionals who need serious speed, capacity, and reliability.
G-Technology presents their new Pro SSD line of drives on NAB 2018. It consists of a rugged portable SSD, high endurance desktop SSD, and transportable RAID SSD solution. All new products use highspeed thunderbolt 3 and offer various capacities.
Avid has reduced the cost of the subscription version of Media Composer (pictured right) to under US$20 (around £15) a month and revealed a slate of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools. It has also launched a new nearline storage product.
