Video Recording with NewTek Connect Spark™

The main purpose for NewTek Connect Spark™ is to convert SDI or HDMI video signals to NDI® to send as IP video on the computer network via Ethernet or WiFi. From there, the video source can be used by multiple devices and applications all at the same time. But Connect Spark and NDI offer much more: you can also capture and record your HDMI or SDI video in several ways.

Importing Media Files into TriCaster

With the multitude of different media file formats and codecs available in the industry, it is not hard to understand why there are so many questions around what is considered the ‘best’ format for the playback of video clips on TriCaster®. While TriCaster can playback many different formats, that doesn’t mean that all media formats are equal. Clips you make can have different needs. In some cases, just video playback is all that is needed while in other cases features like an alpha channel might be required.

Let me explain what is in here and why you will care.

First, let’s explain what [ NewTek ] NDI Tools 3.5 isn’t. It doesn’t update your other NDI apps, so installing this will not affect anything else installed on your system. NDI Tools 3.5 is backwards compatible with previous versions of NDI, so not everything has to be updated to use it.
