Trade show time! You know what that means, it’s also time for another big update to the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of video tools and, of course, Adobe Premiere Pro. This NAB season is no exception and while PPro doesn’t get a lot of big, never-before-seen, long-in-the-making, Earth-shattering new features we do get several nice enhancements to some existing tools.
With a new semester beginning, students at NYFA campuses are starting their first introduction to Avid’s Media Composer system. Hard drives are being formatted, project directories are being created, and folks everywhere are wondering to themselves “What is YCbCr anyway?”
As Post Production instructors, we often get the asked how Media Composer became the software of choice at the New York Film Academy. I can only assume that question is also asked at the many film schools where Media Composer is the required software.
Avid Media Composer First is free; why not try it out? Although its learning curve can be steep, Media Composer First lets you learn without risk.
Avid is pleased to announce that the February release of Media Composer 2018 is now available from Avid Master Accounts, Application Manager, and the Avid Download Center (login and password required).
EDIUS 9 Nonlinear Editing Software from Grass Valley, a Belden Brand, has been recognized by TV Technology, part of NewBay’s Broadcast/Video Group, with a prestigious 2017 Product Innovation Award. First introduced in November, EDIUS 9 added a number of significant performance enhancements that made it even easier for users to edit anything in real time in almost any format or resolution.
This week’s Fries n’ Shake add-on sales opportunities video highlights the various accessories a customer using Avid Media Composer might also need. Whether it’s software or storage any editor using an NLE like Avid Media Composer will probably need some additional equipment down the line.
