Computers are usually the weakest link in the live production world, because they are the most likely to fail. I have always been a diehard switcher console advocate, but the Wirecast Gear may make me a convert. It’s a solid turnkey system built from the ground up and optimized to run Wirecast.

If only it were so simple.
The reality is much more complex. While it is true you can stream video without much thought and effort, most likely the amount of viewers you attract will be related to how much time you spend on setting up your broadcast. Little input = little audience.
Whether you’re shooting indoors or outdoors, you don’t want shaky video, bad light or poor audio. Invest in a tripod with a cellphone mount for both indoor and outdoor shoots — you can get a cellphone mount for as low as US$2. If you think you’ll have lots of moving shots, get a stabilizer so you don’t end up with shaky video. Something like the DJI Osmo is a little pricey (US$569 on Amazon) but gets the job done.
