The annual NAB Show is billed as the place “where content comes to life,” and it’s hard to disagree. The event is a chance for leaders in the world of media and production technology to come together and share knowledge, tackle the big questions facing the industry, and most importantly, show off a few new toys. There’s always a raft of incredible and innovative products on show, but in 2017 it was NewTek who really stepped up and stole the show.
If you’re looking at TriCaster TC1 and are thinking about its capabilities, what configuration of equipment do you need for your productions?
Curtis and Lisa Wood of Computerwise, reseller for NewTek, maker of the Tricaster and other video switching technology, just came back from the NAB show in Las Vegas. They are familiar if not intimate with all things NewTek and will bring us current on the new TC1 switcher, as well as other great technology NewTek is rolling out.
Live Streaming at 4K at 60 Frames a second is so 2017. At Streaming Media East 2017, we got an overview of Newtek’s powerful new tricaster, the TC1.
The new TC1 brings 4k 60p live streaming at a very affordable price. The TC1 has 4 hard inputs (physical camera) and multitude NDI or ‘network-based’ camera inputs. This means that churches can now easily deploy cameras and video sources around their facilities using their existing network infrastructure.

Congrats to G-Technology, Atomos, NewTek iZotope and Teradek on their much deserved Red Shark best of NAB 2017 Awards!
At the 2017 NAB Show, many of the attendees will get the chance to see the newest member of the TriCaster family, TC1, for the very first time. In addition, the company continues to push forward its successful NDI protocol that is making waves on the IP front.
Streaming is a critical component of the new TC1. The company notes that users can “stream directly to Facebook Live, YouTube Live, Microsoft Azure, Periscope, Twitch, and other streaming sites.”
