IBC 2017 | Tech Demo of VR Workflows for After Effects and Premiere Pro
By Jim Bask
Adobe showcased 360/VR editing tools for Premiere Pro and After Effects, that are in development, during IBC 2017. A lot of the new additions were centered around the acquisition of the Skybox Studio plugins from Mettle and their inclusion inside Premiere Pro and After Effects.

Adobe is at the forefront of 360 and VR production. While our VR workflows take creators from capture to edit to output, our users have been relying on the SkyBox Suite of plug-ins from Mettle for VR transitions, titles, and effects. It made perfect sense for us to make these plug-ins available to our subscribers so that creators of 360/VR content will have a truly seamless, end-to-end workflow.
Studios already have plans for viewers to become immersed in popular films via first-person experiences as an ape in ‘Planet of the Apes’ and Matt Damon’s character in ‘The Martian,’ among others.
