The Panasonic LUMIX line of cameras is extremely extensive and features some tremendous cameras with a ton of capabilities. This being said, different LUMIX cameras will work better for each workflow. So how can users know which LUMIX is right for them? Videomaker.com recently posted a great article detailing which LUMIX is best for which workflow.

Check out some highlights from that article, below.

S1H

Let’s start with the LUMIX S1H, the flagship full-frame mirrorless camera from Panasonic. It features a 24.2 Megapixel (MP) CMOS sensor capable of capturing up to 6K 24p video at 4:2:2 in 10-bit. The S1H offers Dual Native ISO — generating less noise at higher ISOs.  The camera offers unlimited record time and an internal fan for improved heat dispersion. The S1H is a durable and reliable camera for creators who need to shoot for a long time. Also, the camera shoots up to 120fps in HD, or up to 60fps in UHD and DCI 4K. For improved dynamic range, the S1H supports V-Log. It also stays steady with 7-stop 5-Axis Dual Image Stabilizer (IB) 2 sensor stabilization.

The S1H has approval from Netflix for usage on Netflix 4K Originals. Overall, it’s a great fit for cinematographers and narrative filmmakers. It’s also at home with wedding videographers, corporate video, newsgathering and those that plan to shoot both video and stills, such as hybrid shooters.

S1

Next, let’s discuss the LUMIX S1. The S1 features a 24.2MP full-frame sensor. It offers sensor-shift 96MP high-resolution images and has a 3.2-inch tilt touchscreen with 2.1 million dots. The S1 shoots up to UHD 4K60 video and is HDR-capable. It’s ready to go with 7-stop 5-Axis Dual I.S. 2 and internal 10-bit recording.

The S1 fits well for wedding videographers, corporate shooters and news gatherers. It’s also a good choice for hybrid shooters.

S5

The LUMIX S5 is the smallest and lightest full-frame camera from LUMIX. With its 24.2MP full-frame sensor, it captures up to 4K60 video in 10-bit. Additionally, the S5 utilizes dual native ISO to improve its noise floor when shooting at higher ISO’s. The S5 has a 3 inch free-angle touchscreen and 6.5-stop 5-Axis Dual I.S. 2. Also, it has high-resolution shooting with a 96MP sensor-shifted image, comes with V-Log and can capture HDR.

The S5 has a wide range of users, spanning from live streamers to beginners and hobbyists. Wedding videographers, news gatherers, corporate videographers and hybrid shooters also benefit.
