In the detailed blog post titled “YoloBox Ultra Combines The Best of YoloBox Pro and Instream” by John Aldred for DIYPhotography, YoloLiv has officially unveiled the YoloBox Ultra, an all-in-one streaming solution that seamlessly integrates the standout features of the YoloBox Pro and Instream devices.

Addressing the challenge of executing these advanced features at home, which typically required expensive hardware or a robust computer setup, the YoloBox Pro emerged as a game-changer by consolidating these capabilities into a single device. Notably, it has become a popular choice for streamers, replacing the need for additional hardware and even serving as a computer replacement for direct streaming to platforms like YouTube and Twitch, albeit without vertical streaming capabilities.

Enter the YoloLiv Instream, a device akin to the YoloBox Pro but specifically designed for streaming vertical video content on platforms like Instagram and TikTok. Fueled by Android power, the Instream sidesteps potential terms of service issues with Meta and TikTok. However, the distinct hardware limitations of both devices meant that users had to choose one over the other, prompting the development of the YoloBox Ultra.

The YoloBox Ultra is positioned as the amalgamation of the best features from both its predecessors, enabling users to seamlessly switch between horizontal and vertical video streaming. Beyond the integration of existing capabilities, the YoloBox Ultra introduces several new features.

The most significant enhancement is the ability to stream in 4K, a notable advancement over previous models and many competitors in the same price range, which typically support only 1080p streaming. With four full-sized HDMI inputs and an HDMI output for external monitoring, the YoloBox Ultra offers increased flexibility in content creation.

An additional noteworthy feature is the introduction of ISO stream recording, a departure from the YoloBox Pro and Instream, which only recorded the final output stream. The YoloBox Ultra records each input as a separate file, reminiscent of the functionality seen in the Blackmagic Atem Mini Pro ISO. This allows for more nuanced post-production editing, enabling adjustments to timing, camera transitions, and overlays.

Under the hood, the YoloBox Ultra boasts a new processor, upgrading from the Snapdragon 660 found in its predecessors to the more robust Snapdragon 865. Accompanying this are increased RAM and internal storage, with 8GB and 128GB, respectively. The screen brightness sees a significant boost from 400 nits in the YoloBox Pro to 650 nits in the YoloBox Ultra, enhancing visibility in various environments.

A substantial improvement comes in the form of a larger 75.48Wh battery, doubling the capacity of the YoloBox Pro and Instream batteries. This robust power source provides up to 6.5 hours of usage before necessitating a recharge, contributing to the device’s portability and longevity.

In summary, the YoloBox Ultra emerges as a formidable streaming solution, combining the strengths of the YoloBox Pro and Instream while introducing new features such as 4K streaming, ISO stream recording, and an upgraded processor. The device’s comprehensive capabilities, coupled with its all-in-one design, make it an enticing option for content creators seeking versatility in both horizontal and vertical streaming scenarios, even for those who may not initially consider vertical streaming.
