NewTek TriCaster and NDI Success Story
By Jamie G
NewTek’s Head of Global Product Management, Will Waters recently shared how the NewTek TriCaster and NDI helped Bidwell Presbyterian Church in Chico Califronia. When the pandemic hit, houses of worship were forced to turn to live streaming to share their messages. Even after the pandemic slowly calmed down the benefits from streaming had houses of worship amazed at what they can accomplish.
The NewTek TriCaster live production system helped the church craft their story. Having NDI in the church’s workflow allowed them to maintain social distancing and have their video control in a building across the street from the church.
“It’s been very convenient to where if we need to adjust cameras at the main campus, we don’t have to walk across the street or phone somebody to make those quick adjustments. We can do it all on the fly. Or if we do see a problem, we’re able to address it quickly.”

Bidwell Presbyterian Church workflow was designed for them with their needs and price point in mind. Will Waters says “This capability – socially distanced production offering two-way interaction – is one that is likely to be tweaked going forward. Still, it won’t be a capability that is thrown out entirely once the effects of the pandemic finally subside. These capabilities provide long-term value in connecting a larger congregation together in a way that is intuitive, elegant, and widely accepted by people who have utilized video calling software increasingly over the past two years.”
