Extra, a digital technology company that helps brands every step of the way with their live events, from initial planning and venue organization to live production and distribution was searching for a reliable live streaming encoder when they were constantly running into problems during their live event productions. After research they found the Epiphan Pearl-2. Extra invested in two Pearl-2 units. They were drawn to the Pearl-2 because it’s rigorously tested for long-term reliability, making it the perfect encoder to address the issues they were running in to. It also has built-in SDI inputs and is relatively small in size which are factors that drew Extra in.
Extra produced about 400 events with their new Pearl-2 encoders and have seen great results! It delivered the reliability Extra was looking for and stayed reliable even during their multiple channels and streams.
When we decided to purchase and to use Pearl-2, we found it was worth the money because it really changed how we produce our events. Now, we don’t produce any events without it.
