YoloBox Pro Review
By Jennifer P
Ali Jennings recently posted their review of the YoloLiv YoloBox Pro on CameraJabber. It’s uncommon to find a device that operates as smoothly and simply as the YoloBox Pro. Want to broadcast video from more than one location and with cameras other than your phone’s? The YoloBox Pro gives you the ability to do just that. The touchscreen interface, which is based on the Android operating system, allows for total touchscreen control and makes it simple to switch between cameras with a single tap.
What is the YoloBox Pro?
The YoloBox Pro is a video switcher that lets you choose a feed from one of three cameras or attached media players. The YoloBox Pro is unique in that it makes use of the android platform to provide a user experience similar to that of using a smartphone app.
With the help of the device’s huge touch screen, three video inputs, wired and wireless networking, and a number of other built-in capabilities, you may stream to all of your preferred platforms.
Even while the YoloBox Pro is easy to use, it is packed with features and functionality that, with other switchers, can be very difficult to use, such as overlays, live comment watching on the video interface, and numerous live streams to various platforms.
However, YoloBox Pro goes one further by offering additions such as live selling, 4G and SD card recording; you can also use it as a straight monitor, a small but incredibly useful touch.
Build and Handling
Seldom does a product that appears to provide so much and looks so appealing online really look just as good in person. The front of the devices is entirely covered by a large screen. The sides are made of a tactile, flat-gray matt plastic, while the back is made of a textured version of the same material.
The YoloBox Pro has a straightforward, modest appearance on the outside; it appears to be nothing more than a monitor.
A 1/4-inch thread, two slots—one for an SD card and the other for a SIM card—and protective covers can be found on the device’s bottom when it is being looked at.
Three HDMI inputs, a USB Type-A port, a network port, an HDMI output, a USB Type-C port, one 3.5mm headphone jack, two 3.5mm mic jacks, and another USB Type-C port for external power are all located on the top. The sides are free of any ports or buttons. Neat, secretive, and simple to understand.
When you turn on the YoloBox Pro, a splash screen highlights several setup requirements that you must go over before beginning. In order to complete these setup processes, you must connect the device to the internet. The procedure is much the same as connecting your smartphone to a local area network; simply choose the WiFi connection and input the password.
Once the connection is established, hit the red + icon to select either the Monitor Mode or Create a Live Stream option.
You can choose a source, apply overlays, and automatically swap between cameras in monitor mode. If you develop things that you’ll utilize later, it’s very helpful. The touchscreen interface enables you to view various viewpoints of several cameras.
The Create a LiveStream option is the other choice and the main attraction of the YoloBox Pro. Once the media box or cameras are connected, clicking this displays a live view feed from those cameras.
You can connect to YoloLiv’s platform, YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, or a custom feed using the many options on the right side of the page; the connection process is simple.
Once the feed has been chosen, you may add items and access other functions using a row of icons at the bottom of the screen. Overlays, Platforms, Invite Guests, Audio Mixer, Scoreboard, Comments, Auto-Switch, and Settings are some of the features available. Each of these spots is quite simple to access thanks to the touchscreen interface.
After choosing your video sources, tap on the one you want to serve as the feed’s primary source. The element you want to overlay can also be added or deleted in a similar manner.
When everything is ready, you tap the Go Live button to begin the stream.
Features
The advancements made by video switchers in such a short period of time are astounding. The YoloBox Pro pack includes features that, even a year ago, would have looked nearly impossible or too costly for most businesses, much alone individuals.
To build an effective streaming system, the YoloBox Pro combines amazing features. Easy switching, recording, and monitoring are all possible with the box’s user-friendly touchscreen interface. Without a computer or workstation, up to six video sources can be live streamed.
Easy navigation and content control of the livestream are made possible by the touch screen.
The YoloBox Pro has a built-in battery that has more than enough power to support an hour-long stream, if not longer, in addition to being able to be powered by an external source. Due to its built-in battery and portability, you can stream live from the peak of a mountain if you so desire.
The YoloBox Pro has a network connector so you can stream content from anywhere, but it also lets you connect via WiFi or, if you’re in the field, a SIM card slot so you can access a 4G LTE network.
There are two versions of the YoloBox Pro; the 7-inch and 8-inch version in this test. The 8-inch offers a bright 400 nit brightness screen, 3 HDMI Inputs, USB Type-C, one for charging, the other is fully featured, 1 USB and 3.5mm audio line in and out ports.
Powering the processing in YoloBox Pro is a Qualcomm 660 processor.
Alongside the streaming potential, the powerful processor can also handle device processing, including graphic and video overlays and Chroma.
Last but not least, I want to draw attention to two features: Auto Switching, which lets you schedule when the YoloBox Pro will switch from one camera to another. This is a fantastic feature for people working alone because it allows for a more dynamic display than is possible with just one viewpoint.
The video quality should be mentioned as the final and most significant aspect. The YoloBox processes the video from all cameras and outputs it at up to 1080p 60fps in resolution and frame rate.
