The ThunderBlade X8 outpaces its predecessor with impressive real-world read speeds of up to 2949MB/s and write speeds of up to 2826 MB/s.
Key features of the ThunderBlade X8 include dual Thunderbolt 3 ports for easy daisy-chaining of up to five additional Thunderbolt devices, a sleek and rugged design with a high-quality aluminum enclosure, and a fanless, heat-dissipating design for quiet operation. The SSD is suitable for on-the-go use and comes with a ballistic hard-shell case for transportation.
The ThunderBlade X8 is available in three capacities – 8TB, 16TB, and 32TB, with the top model accommodating up to eight 4TB 2242 NVMe M.2 drives. The 32TB capacity, while sufficient for most users.
OWC’s Founder and CEO, Larry O’Connor, emphasizes the product’s enhanced performance, total usable storage, and ruggedness, catering to the needs of creative professionals with rock-solid data protection.
