In this article by Gary Kayye for rAVe PUBS, he highlights the launch of Turtle AV, a new Australia-based manufacturer specializing in AV-over-IP solutions. Co-founded by a former BirdDog founder, Turtle AV aims to embrace industry standards such as Dante AV-A, Dante Audio, JPEG 2000, and HEVC/H.265. The company has introduced an impressive lineup of 24 new hardware products, designed to enhance AV-over-IP integration across various applications.
One of Turtle AV’s standout innovations is the embedding of Dante Controller directly into its hardware. This integration allows for seamless control of all Dante devices on a network via a web browser on laptops, tablets, and smartphones. Additionally, the hardware supports API control from platforms like Q-SYS, Crestron, and Control4, enabling streamlined, one-button routing and switching across an entire Dante network.
Turtle AV will make its official debut at ISE 2025, where it will showcase its diverse product lineup. Among the highlights are the Chazy 4K Family, a series of five 4K 4:4:4 Dante AV-A & JPEG 2000 transmitters and receivers, including a Decora-style wall plate option. The Mineola Family introduces three Dante XLR Audio Bridges with various input/output configurations, while the Darwin HD Family offers an affordable H.265 AV-over-IP distribution system, ideal for sports bars and retail spaces. The lineup also includes versatile video wall solutions, Dante audio adapters, a 100m USB 3.2 extender kit, and a Dante 150W power amplifier.
With its commitment to industry standards and a robust suite of AV-over-IP solutions, Turtle AV is poised to make a significant impact in the professional AV market.
