How to Optimize NDI Bridge for Vizrt Flex and Flex Dual Control Panels

By Stephanie R 0 Comment June 19, 2025

Looking to enhance connectivity between Vizrt Flex or Flex Dual control panels and a remote or cloud-based TriCaster system? While these panels use NDI data for auto-discovery and seamless local integration, connecting them remotely requires a more strategic approach.

That’s where NDI Bridge comes in.
NDI Bridge is often used for transmitting video and audio across networks, but it also supports NDI control data—making it a powerful tool for remote Flex panel operation. However, combining control data and video on a single NDI Bridge connection can create operational challenges. A restart on either end can disrupt both live production and video transmission.

The solution? Run a dedicated NDI Bridge just for Flex panel data.
This setup isolates control communications from video traffic, improving reliability and reducing strain on system resources. Since no video is transmitted, this control-only Bridge can run directly on the TriCaster without taxing the GPU.

Using NDI Access Groups, you can easily separate video and control data streams. Flex panels will automatically detect all available Bridge connections to the TriCaster—including backup paths—ensuring continuous operation even during failovers.

For an even smoother experience, install NDI Bridge as a Windows Service on the TriCaster. This allows it to run in the background without manual intervention or an active user interface.
