Advanced Image Robotics (AIR) demonstrated its AI-powered robotic camera platform during the MLS All-Star Game, highlighting how intelligent camera automation can enhance remote sports production. The deployment featured six robotic cameras, including AI-driven player and bench tracking, integrated with Tracab tracking data to automatically follow athletes while providing production teams with camera angles that traditionally require dedicated operators.
Designed as a modular production solution, AIR supports both AI-assisted and manual tablet-based operation, allowing broadcasters to integrate the system into existing workflows while reducing production costs. Following successful trials across MLS, NBC Sports Bay Area, the NHL, and other live sports productions, the platform illustrates how AI-powered robotics can improve production efficiency, expand creative coverage, and support scalable remote production models.
