Podcasting is increasingly becoming a professional video production market. At Cine Gear 2026, Panasonic’s “The New Talk Show” panel explored how creators are moving beyond webcams and basic setups toward cinematic cameras, broadcast-style studios, and more sophisticated production workflows.
Matthew Alvarez of Soundshed AV Solutions discussed the growing demand for premium podcast studios, where cinema cameras, better codecs, color grading, and network-based production are becoming part of the workflow.
Panasonic’s UB-series box cameras, including the UB50, are helping support that shift. Network-based power and control, combined with the LUMIX Tether app, allow smaller teams to remotely manage focus, ISO, white balance, and camera triggering without requiring large production crews.
For AV integrators and production technology partners, the trend represents a growing opportunity. As creators invest in higher production value, podcast studios are increasingly being designed more like compact television studios, with professional cameras, networking, lighting, audio, and centralized control.
