Introduced at IBC 2026, the AJA FS8 is a next-generation media processor designed to help broadcasters, stadiums, and enterprise AV environments transition between traditional SDI and modern IP-based production.
The 1RU FS8 provides up to eight channels of HD/2K or four channels of 4K/UltraHD processing, along with 50 Gbps of IP throughput and SMPTE ST 2110 support. This allows facilities to convert between SDI and IP while maintaining existing baseband infrastructure during a phased migration.
Beyond video processing, FS8 provides a flexible audio matrix supporting Dante, MADI, SDI-embedded audio, SMPTE ST 2110-30, and AES67. Optional Colorfront Engine processing adds SDR/HDR conversion and HDR format conversion, while four integrated 4K ROI scalers help accommodate signals that need to be cropped or reformatted for different production environments.
AJA has also designed the FS8 architecture with emerging IPMX Pro AV workflows in mind. For integrators building stadiums, broadcast facilities, corporate campuses, and other large-scale systems, FS8 provides a bridge between today's SDI and ST 2110 infrastructure and increasingly IP-centric production environments.
