Atomos Shinobi 7: Quick Overview

Atomos Shinobi 7: Quick Overview

By Jamie G 0 Comment June 10, 2021

The Atomos Shinobi 7 is here! Back in May Atomos announced their new 7″ 2200nit HDR HDMI+SDI i/o Pro Video and Photo Monitor that works with any camera, the Shinobi 7. According to Brian Hallett of ProVideo Coalition the “Shinobi 7 is a bigger and brighter monitor that takes the foundations of the original Shinobi to new heights. With a calibrated peak brightness of 2200Nits, the Shinobi 7 can tackle the brightest of environments without the need for a sun hood or the need to convert Log inputs for HDR monitoring.” In Hallet’s quick overview of the new product he highlights important features this monitor brings to the production industry. Check out some highlights below.

Control your camera by using the touch screen on the Shinobi 7; Atomos designed the touch screen to give you fast access to the most crucial camera features. Focus on the image and make adjustments of iris, white balance, shutter angle, and ND. With the optional Atomos USB-C to serial cable, support is available out the box for the Z Cam E2 series camera, providing direct control of all the menu configurations. The additional USB and RJ45 control ports on the Shinobi 7 also provide support for future developments, as more options are added for touch screen camera control

The Shinobi 7  screen displays a stunning 10+ stops of dynamic range in realtime from Log/PQ/HLG signals. Combined with our unique HDR monitoring features, the Shinobi 7 simplifies the complexities of shooting Log and HDR, helping you to replicate post-production workflows at the moment when it matters most – during your shoot. With Adaptive Cooling, you can also prioritize reduced fan noise or the display’s peak brightness, allowing you to choose between a brighter image on the Shinobi 7 or reduced fan noise.
