Panasonic at NAB 2026: Advancing IP-Based Production, AI Automation, and Live Workflow Innovation
By Stephanie R
At NAB 2026, Panasonic showcased a clear direction toward IP-based, software-defined production, emphasizing open standards such as IPMX and SMPTE ST 2110. The company highlighted its ongoing focus on automation and operational efficiency, reflecting broader industry demand for scalable and flexible live production workflows. This approach positions Panasonic as a key player in helping broadcasters and content creators transition to modern, IP-driven environments.
A central highlight was the continued evolution of the KAIROS platform, now advancing as a fully software-defined live production system. With updates in version 2.0, including a new Scene Controller for multi-screen workflows and IPMX-certified system support, KAIROS reinforces Panasonic’s commitment to open ecosystems. The integration with NEP Group further demonstrates this strategy, enabling more unified orchestration and control across complex live production environments.
Panasonic also introduced a range of AI-driven production tools designed to reduce manual intervention and simplify operations. Features such as AI-based auto framing for PTZ cameras and the AI Video Mixer within the Media Production Suite enable real-time compositing and keying without traditional green screen setups. These tools are aimed at both high-end broadcast teams and smaller creator-driven productions looking to improve efficiency.
In addition, Panasonic unveiled new products and updates that expand its production ecosystem. The AW-UE5 PTZ camera offers compact 4K/60p performance with AI framing and NDI HX support, while the AK-UBX100 box camera introduces enhanced autofocus, low skew, and optical SDI transmission. The new Image Adjust Pro plugin provides remote multi-camera control and color matching within the Media Production Suite. Panasonic’s ecosystem was further recognized through industry collaboration, with Movicom Group’s Robyhead D2 receiving the Red Dot Award for Product Design 2026.
