By Jim Bask 0 Comment September 30, 2016

Solutions for worship live streaming

I had the pleasure of being part of the Epiphan Video staff at WFX 2016 in Louisville, Kentucky on September 21 and 22. This annual show moves around to different locations each year, and brings with it physical and technology-based solutions for churches and worship. The show this year included everything from seating, stages and lighting to music and, of course, live streaming.

At the Epiphan Video booth, we showcased our new Pearl-2 system and AV.io 4K.

azPTP Upgrades with Bluefish444Phoenix-based azPTP has been providing fully equipped production crews to major studios, television shows, ad agencies and corporate clients since 1999. They offer complete post production editing, audio, color correction and cleanup services with the latest equipment, and they’ve got global experience in 6K, 5K, 4K and HD, with offerings from script to screen.

azPTP’s work has appeared on the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC), on sports outlets in the form of news magazines and features (Fox Sports, ESPN, HBO Real Sports, PGA Tour, The Golf Channel, NASCAR Images), in corporate presentations (Ford, GM, Walgreens), in documentaries (Last Picture Show, Chronic Insomniac), and in independent films (Home Front, Letters From Home, The Princess of Ahwatukee).

In 2009, leveraging their extensive experience in broadcast television, azPTP expanded their focus to include more cinematic endeavors, specializing in high-resolution digital cinematography. Shooting primarily 5K on a Red Weapon, azPTP also accommodates budget-minded clients who want a high-end look but can’t afford 5K pricing by using specialty camera options. For editing, azPTP started out using Avid Media Composer but has transitioned to the Adobe Creative Cloud.

Using 4K video for live event capture with Epiphan Video

By Jim Bask 0 Comment July 20, 2016

AVio-4K_diagram4K video isn’t just the latest fad, it’s becoming the new standard. In the near future, any live video production is going to need to use 4K video (or UHD Video, as the 3840×2160 resolution is often referred to) in order to remain competitive. This isn’t just because it’s a new novelty, either – there are genuine benefits that come from the format, ranging from greater display range, to better behind-the-scenes editing.

The benefits are huge, but computers are having trouble keeping up, since the amount of information captured by a 4K camera can sometimes tax even the best processors.
