A typically busy IBC at the Atomos stand, with a stunningly bright firmware upgrade for the Shogun 7 as well as all manner of new capabilities for the Panasonic Lumix S1H, Sony FX9, and Nikon Z 7 and Z 6 cameras.
Atomos has some more news and upgrades for this 2019 edition of IBC in Amsterdam. The monitor/record specialist Atomos today unveiled a new chapter in screen technology with the unveiling of a super bright 3000nit free upgrade to the 7” HDR Shogun 7. Announced earlier in the year during NAB 2019, the Shogun 7 is billed as the ultimate HDR monitor/recorder and had originally 1500nits of brightness, which is a lot.
At IBC 2019 our own Nino Leitner had an interesting in-depth sit-down with Atomos CEO Jeromy Young, talking about 16bit RAW on the Sony FX9, updates to ProResRAW with regards to support in NLEs, as well as the pending multicam switching software updates to Atomos’ Sumo and Shogun 7.

Atomos is excited to announce co-development with Panasonic of RAW over HDMI from the brand new Lumix S1H to the Atomos Ninja V 4K HDR monitor-recorder. The RAW update will be available free on the Ninja V when released by Panasonic.
