Like many, I have been keeping a careful eye on the developments Avid has been making with Pro Tools. The company has seen some tough times recently and end users have been sceptical about the constant flow of updates. Plug-in and third-party software manufacturers have had to play catch up, providing new 64-bit AAX versions of its products. However, there is apparently light at the end of the tunnel, and in my opinion Pro Tools has something to shout about again.
Pro Tools has now reached version 12.5, which has accumulated several small but significant updates since my last review of the software.

Avid is pleased to pre-announce to Channel Partners the upcoming release of Media Composer v8.6. This release has a number of exciting new features and important bug fixes. This release will be made available via the Avid Download Center (login and password required) as well as Avid Master Accounts.
Avid® is pleased to announce the creation of two new product bundles for Post Production workflows. These bundles contain everything you need for post production and are great starter kits for landing new customer opportunities or expanding into existing installations that may include Adobe or Final Cut Editorial. This aggressively priced bundle saves over 20% if these components were purchased separately. These bundles are effective as of Friday, May 20th through the end of Q2 (June 30, 2016).
