Downing Street has employed Telestream’s Wirecast Pro to stream its daily coronavirus briefings to the UK public.
The UK daily coronavirus briefings are being streamed to five destinations – Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Twitch, with a capability to send the content to Reuters to be further syndicated.
Number 10 first began using Wirecast in late 2019 to livestream the Prime Minister’s People’s PMQs to Facebook. They required a mobile workflow to stream at very short notice from any location as well as the ability to add Number 10 branding and graphics to video clips.
With the onset of the global coronavirus pandemic, Downing Street has now employed a second Wirecast liscence to enable remote working.
“We were given the task to produce high quality, professional live streams that can deliver effective yet simple messages to the public, which also gives best value for the tax-payer,” explained Robert Midgley, videographer to the UK Prime Minister.
