Epiphan Pearl Firmware 4.24.2 Adds Opencast Scheduling and NDI|HX Enhancements
By Stephanie R
Epiphan Video has announced the upcoming release of firmware version 4.24.2 for the Pearl family of encoders, which is now available. This update introduces powerful new capabilities designed to improve live streaming workflows, compatibility, and reliability.
One of the key highlights is Opencast’s scheduled live webcast support. With this update, Pearl capture agents can automatically start streaming to one or more predefined destinations, making it easier for educators, enterprises, and broadcasters to manage live events on schedule without manual intervention.
Another major improvement is NDI|HX interoperability. Epiphan resolved compatibility issues between Pearl devices and certain NDI|HX cameras, including the Sony SRG-A40. Users should note that NDI|HX1 support has been deprecated in this release.
Alongside these enhancements, firmware 4.24.2 also refreshes Pearl’s digital certificates to maintain secure communications with external services.
With improved automation, expanded device compatibility, and tighter security, this firmware ensures Pearl systems continue to deliver professional, reliable live video production.
