KOMODO X Production Rig | Wooden Camera Elite System
By Jennifer P
In this video from Tyler Edwards, he walks through his updated rig build for the RED Komodo X, highlighting major changes since his last setup. Centered around the Wooden Camera Elite Accessory System, the build features a 15mm LWS baseplate with an ARRI dovetail receiver, giving it a solid and flexible foundation. He powers the rig with Core SWX Nano X batteries and integrates the Teradek Bolt 6 wireless video system through a Wooden Camera battery caddy and D-Box, enabling clean power distribution and expanded I/O. A B-Box handles timecode and run-stop, allowing record triggers from his EVF, the Kinefinity SDI E Viewfinder. For audio, he uses the RØDE NTG5 mic and a Mid49 XLR adapter, while focus is controlled via the Tilta Nucleus Nano II handle. His lens of choice is the Laowa Ranger 17-50mm T2.9 paired with the Mofage POCO PL Adapter featuring built-in VND. With neat cable management and modular flexibility, Tyler’s rig is built for both run-and-gun and production-ready shoots, showing how to get the most out of the Komodo X.
