Dante Audio Networking on Location: Lessons from a Reality TV Production in Panama
By Stephanie R
Headroom Productions designed a compact, mobile audio infrastructure using Turtle AV Mineola 8×8 units and Dante networking to meet the demands of daily setup and teardown during Survivor Québec. The 1U form factor and low heat output made the system ideal for transport and operation in tropical conditions, while its reliability ensured uninterrupted performance across the production. Integrated with Netgear AV Line switches and Riedel communication systems, the Mineola units enabled efficient audio routing, monitoring, and redundancy, proving that modern IP-based audio workflows can deliver both flexibility and durability for high-pressure, real-world broadcast environments.
