Planar Tracking and Advanced Effects: mocha Pro 5 Plug-in for Avid Media Composer

Motion Tracking is a task that many editors tend to shy away from — often due to a bad first time experience. The difficult track that got away can lead to time consuming manual keyframing.
Imagineer Systems designed the mocha planar tracking tools to handle the most difficult tracking tasks: shots that are out of focus, travel off screen or are occluded by foreground objects stay locked in mocha.
In this quick intro video, Imagineer product specialist Mary Poplin, shows how the new mocha Pro 5 Avid plug-in can be used to planar track the camera movement of a shot and add graphics to the tracked motion without leaving Media Composer.
In this example, the shot is panning and background is out of focus. Traditional point tracking methods would be challenged by this shot, but mocha’s planar tracking tools and interface can handle with ease.
